Children often express difficult experiences through play, behaviour, and emotion before they can explain them in words.

Children do not always have the language to describe what they feel. Play can become a safe and developmentally appropriate way to express experiences, practise regulation, and make sense of emotions.
Through play-based support, children can strengthen emotional expression, coping, and resilience while feeling seen and contained.
