About Cindy Baloyi

Warm, trauma-informed care across life stages.

I am a Counselling Psychologist registered with the HPCSA. I earned my Master of Arts in Community-Based Counselling Psychology from the University of the Witwatersrand and gained valuable experience during my internship with the South African Defence Force. In my own therapeutic journey, I’ve come to recognize the anxiety that arises when we reveal aspects of ourselves that still feel unfamiliar or uncomfortable. Yet, I’ve also discovered that healing truly begins when we feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood.

Experience in trauma-focused care

Cindy’s internship within the South African military services strengthened her experience with trauma, acute stress, high-pressure adjustment difficulties, and complex emotional presentations.

Specialised play therapy skills

Play-based methods allow children to express emotions, process experiences, build regulation, and develop resilience in ways that are developmentally appropriate and contained.

About Cindy Baloyi

A therapeutic space shaped by safety, collaboration, and meaning.

Clients often arrive feeling overwhelmed, stuck in painful patterns, or disconnected from themselves and others. Therapy offers a supported process for making sense of what is happening, strengthening coping, and finding a more grounded way forward.

My Philosophy

I believe people are more than the problems they experience.

One of the reasons I was drawn to psychology is my deep belief that no person should be defined by a diagnosis, a traumatic experience, or a difficult season in life. While our experiences shape us, they do not have to determine who we become.

My Approach

I use an integrative therapeutic approach, drawing on:

• Narrative Therapy

• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

• Systems Therapy

• Trauma-Informed Care

• Play Therapy (for children)

Every person is different, which is why therapy is tailored to your individual needs, goals, and experiences rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach. I believe that it is a privilege to be invited into people’s stories. Whether you are seeking support for yourself, your child, your relationship, or your family, my hope is that you will find a space where you feel safe, understood, and empowered to move forward.
